Food Works Agrivoltaic Sol Farm

The Sol Farm is an agrivoltaic site in Eldorado, Illinois that Food Works started in the Summer of 2026. The farm team focuses on producing specialty crops—mainly vegetables, herbs, and pasture-raised poultry—between solar arrays using regenerative farming methods. The farm is in its nascent stages, currently featuring sixteen 100-foot market garden-style planting beds.

Looking toward 2027, the team plans to double their specialty crop production area, increase the amounts of pastured raised poultry, and introduce an apiary on site. The Sol Farm aims to continue providing food to our Healthy Food Rx program & Re-Leaf. This farm site will offer new opportunities to launch educational programming, including field days, student farm tours, and exciting internship opportunities in the coming seasons! This project is funded by Sol Systems.
