Farm Tune Up Work Shops 2018
Is it time to expand your farm enterprise? Bring in more partners? Plan a transition? Or update stale marketing or technology?
This series will help you:
This is your chance to renew your small farm dream, refresh your business plan, financial plan or marketing and revive your passion and your profits. Whether you are growing vegetables, berries, mushrooms, or duck eggs, or producing goat’s milk soap, bedding plants, jams or pickles, we’ve found that after a few years small farm entrepreneurs often are ready to update their business plans, expand, prune unprofitable activities, add enterprises, or involve other farm partners. At these workshops, farmers will target their tune-up to their most pressing challenges, learn about tools to get the job done, and grow their network of mentors and allies to take their farm into its next decade.
We are excited to bring you a crew of fellow farmers and trainers dedicated to your success. You'll spend two full-day sessions focused on your farm. Sessions include materials, snacks and meals. You'll get farmer-proven tips and tools, updates on legal, finance and regulatory issues, and time to consult with experts and veteran farmers who have been where you are. You'll make valuable contacts with others who know that sustainable small farms deliver tons of benefits - and they must also make a profit. You'll meet chefs, other farmers, and wholesalers who will share their enthusiasm for locally grown. You'll take home an Action Plan customized for you, your farm and your market.
Then, tackle Marketing in the digital age at a full-day session in DuQuoin. You'll get a refresher on the tried-and-true marketing tools and a primer on the options available in the digital age. With hands-on training, plus a chance to really focus on YOUR customers, you'll leave with a plan to achieve your marketing goals.
