Support SNAP & Link Match

Help feed families in need and support local farmers with your donation.

Donate to the SNAP & Link Match program and bring healthy food to those who need it most.

The SNAP & Link Match program helps low income families access fresh, healthy foods through local farmers markets. For each dollar a SNAP recipient spends with their LINK card, they receive a matching coupon for fresh fruits and vegetables- essentially doubling the purchasing power of the most vulnerable among us and connecting them with healthful, nourishing food.

This year we expect a surge of need as so many more families will qualify for SNAP (aka Food Stamps). In addition, two new markets would like to begin offering the program- bringing the total to 5 markets in Southern Illinois. Please, give any amount you can to support this program.

  • $25 is the most common amount of matching coupons a SNAP user receives for fruits and vegetables each week.

  • $50 provides a stipend to a volunteer to operate the SNAP station at their market for 1 week - on average, a 5.3 hour commitment.

  • $100 buys an all-weather reusable sign directing customers to the SNAP station and explaining how the program works.

  • $250 buys one market the wooden tokens that customers use as SNAP currency with the vendors.

  • A donation of any amount helps us towards our goal of feeding our community with healthy, life supporting food.

Consider making a recurring monthly contribution of whatever amount feels right to you. Work for this program continues throughout the year with the winter Community Farmers Market in Carbondale, as well as our efforts to help new markets across Southern Illinois.  Check the box marked "Make this a monthly donation" when paying online or mail a check to the address above each month.
Thank you.
